Paul B. Allen

Paul is a mission-driven entrepreneur, tech visionary, and lecturer on entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, strengths psychology, workplace culture, and human potential. Paul has founded 8 companies in his 29-year career in tech, and has lead many executive teams to perform at high levels and engineer hyper-growth into their products and services.

He is best known for co-founding Ancestry.com in 1997 (now worth 2.6 Billion). He was its original CEO and he created the content subscription business model and marketing strategies. He served in many executive roles as Ancestry became the leading genealogy company in the world.

In 2007 he founded FamilyLink, whose Facebook apps for families went viral and attracted more than 120 million users by 2010.

From 2012-2017 Paul was Global Strengths Evangelist for Gallup, helping lead a worldwide movement to bring strengths psychology into schools and workplaces. The StrengthsFinder 2.0 customer base grew from 7 million to 16 million during that time.

His current venture, Strengths, Inc., is deploying the world's best strengths and human development science in a platform ecosystem for personal, professional and leadership development and coaching.

Paul taught entrepreneurship and marketing at the university level for 4 years. He was an Ernst & Young Utah Entrepreneur of the Year in 2000, and the MarketingSherpa national Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008. He serves on the National Advisory Board for the Utah Valley University School of Business; is a fellow of the Utah Genealogical Association and was named a Cyber Pioneer in 2010 by the Cyber Law Section of the Utah State Bar. He was the honored alumnus of the BYU Humanities College in 2016, having graduated in 1990 with a BA in Russian. Paul and his wife Christy live in Provo. They have 8 children and 2 grandchildren.
